About the The Sims cursor collection
This fan-made Sims cursor set for Chrome has four packs drawn from the series' running jokes. The Sims Plumbob is the glowing green diamond, turning pink when you hover a link. The Sims Cowplant holds out its cake, with a slice of cake as the pointer. The Sims Llama is the llama mascot paired with a tiny Plumbob. The Sims Grim Reaper carries a sand hourglass. It suits Simmers with a row of tabs open: mod pages, build tutorials, a Gallery search and a legacy challenge spreadsheet.
The in-jokes behind each Sims cursor
None of these is a named Sim. They are the things players remember between saves. The Plumbob floats above whichever Sim you control. The Cowplant is the garden plant that dangles a cake to lure a Sim close, then swallows them. Llamas have turned up across the series for decades, on uniforms, in item text and as a mascot. The Grim Reaper arrives when a Sim's time runs out, which is why his hover pointer is an hourglass.
A quiet pointer for long build sessions
Simmers read a lot of dense pages: mod lists, patch notes, custom content galleries with small download buttons. A plain diamond is the calmest pointer for that work, and the swap from green to pink makes it obvious when you are over a link. The Cowplant and Grim Reaper are busier images and better kept for casual browsing. The Reaper is drawn with a playful Halloween touch, so it doubles as an October pack.
Which The Sims pack to pick
The Sims Plumbob is the sharpest at small sizes and the least distracting over a long session. The Sims Llama is a friendly middle ground for players who want a character. The Sims Cowplant has the most going on, so set it one size larger. The Sims Grim Reaper is for October, or for anyone whose Sims keep meeting him. Long-time players will get the llama joke; newer ones may prefer the Plumbob.
All 4 The Sims packs
Each pack is a matched pair: one image for your normal pointer and one that takes over when you hover a link or button.
- The Sims Plumbob and Pink Plumbob Cursor: a glowing green Plumbob for the pointer, a pink Plumbob on hover.
- The Sims Cowplant and Slice of Cake Cursor: the Cowplant holding out its cake for the pointer, a slice of cake on hover.
- The Sims Grim Reaper and Sand Hourglass Cursor: the Sims Grim Reaper for the pointer, a sand hourglass on hover.
- The Sims Llama and Tiny Plumbob Cursor: the Sims llama mascot for the pointer, a tiny Plumbob on hover.

Where The Sims cursors work
These show in Chrome on The Sims pages at ea.com, the Gallery in a browser tab, CurseForge, Mod The Sims, The Sims Resource, wikis and forums. They do not replace the pointer in The Sims 4 or any other game in the series, in the EA app, or on a console. Build mode and Create a Sim are untouched.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Plumbob cursor change colour with mood, as it does in the game?
No. The cursor is a fixed image: a green Plumbob normally and a pink one when you hover a link or button. It does not react to anything else on the page.
Is the Sims cursor a mod for The Sims 4?
No. It is a Chrome extension, not a game mod. Nothing is installed into your Mods folder, and your saves, script mods and custom content are not affected. It changes the pointer on websites only.
Can I get a Plumbob cursor on Windows outside Chrome?
Not with this extension. It changes the cursor on web pages in Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Edge, Opera GX and Brave. The Windows desktop, File Explorer and the game itself keep the system pointer.
Are these official The Sims cursors?
