About the Blue cursor collection

Blue is the colour of water, ice, night light and a long list of cartoon heroes, and this page has all four. The site's own designs include Luminous Ripple Orb, Sea Feather Guardian and Glimmer Jelly Shark on the watery side, Azure Crystal Sprite and Steel Sheen Sprite for crystal and metal, Lumen Glow Sprite as a blue lantern, and Cobalt Treble Clef for musicians. Invisible Blue Pixel and Azure Pixel Parakeet are pixel art. The fan-made, unofficial packs include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Chao, Bluey, Bluey Bandit, Undertale Sans, Jinx, Mugman, Sailor Mercury, Huggy Wuggy, Valorant Neon, Doors Guiding Light and Star Wars Lightsaber, whose blue blade turns green on hover.

Electric, cobalt, steel and baby blue

Names and descriptions sort the shades fairly well. Luminous Ripple Orb and Valorant Neon are electric blue, bright enough to hold on a dark page. Cobalt Treble Clef runs from rich cobalt into indigo, the deepest on the page. Steel Sheen Sprite is a cool steel-blue with a metallic finish. Glimmer Jelly Shark is soft blue and Sonic Chao is baby blue, the two palest. Lime Ripple Wisp is half electric blue, half neon lime. Azure Crystal Sprite and Invisible Blue Pixel are bright blues in chunky pixels.

Blue cursors for fans of blue characters

A long list of well-known characters are blue or wear it. Undertale Sans is in his blue hoodie, with a ketchup bottle on hover. Jinx has long blue braids and swaps to Fishbones, her shark launcher. Mugman is in blue, and so is Sailor Mercury, with a water bubble over links. Huggy Wuggy has soft blue fur and a blue GrabPack hand. Doors Guiding Light is the blue light itself, paired with a bottle of Vitamins. Bluey and Bluey Bandit bring the family dogs. All of these are fan-made, and none is official or licensed.

Which Blue pack to pick

Blue sits in the middle of the brightness range, so shade decides where it works. Deep packs such as Cobalt Treble Clef are clearest on white pages. Electric and glowing ones, Luminous Ripple Orb, Lumen Glow Sprite and Valorant Neon, are stronger in dark mode. One caution: many sites colour their links blue, so a small blue cursor can blend into a line of link text. A size step up fixes that. For young children, Bluey and Sonic Chao are the gentle picks.

Each pack is a matched pair: one image for your normal pointer and one that takes over when you hover a link or button.

Where Blue cursors work

Blue cursors show on web pages in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera GX. Plenty of large sites already use blue in their own design, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Docs and the links on Wikipedia among them, so a blue pointer looks at home there. It does not change the system pointer, and does not show in desktop apps, games, chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a light blue or baby blue cursor?

Yes. Sonic Chao is a fan-made baby blue Chao, and Glimmer Jelly Shark is an original design in soft blue tones with a thick outline. Sea Feather Guardian has a water-blue glow. Pale blues are easier to follow on dark pages than on white.

Is there a Sonic or Bluey cursor in blue?

Yes, both as fan-made packs. Sonic the Hedgehog gives a thumbs-up and swaps to a gold ring on hover. Bluey wags her tail, with a Keepy Uppy balloon over links. Neither is official or licensed. Sonic Chao and Bluey Bandit are on the page too.

Can I just turn the normal arrow blue?

No pack on this page is a plain blue arrow. To get one, upload a blue arrow image to the builder on the site and save it as a pair. It then shows on web pages like any other pack, with the size set in the extension popup.

Is there a blue lightsaber cursor?

Yes. Star Wars Lightsaber is a fan-made pair: a blue lightsaber as the normal cursor and a green one when you hover a link. It is unofficial and not licensed, and like every pack it is a still image.
